Faith Through the Process: A Journey of Calling, Discipline, and Purpose

There are seasons in life when faith feels natural, and everything seems aligned, making God’s presence undeniable. But there are also seasons where faith is tested, refined, and deepened through challenges. It is in those moments that faith becomes real.

As Scripture reminds us:

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Hebrews 11:1

For me, faith has never been about perfection. It has always been about perseverance.

The Path of Calling and Discipline. Having once walked the path of the seminary, my journey with God has always carried a sense of calling. That experience shaped my understanding of:

  • Discipline

  • Sacrifice

  • Devotion

Even now, seeing my former classmates preparing for ordination by the grace of God, I am reminded that the Lord continues His work in different ways for each of us. We are all called but not always to the same path.

Lately, God has been teaching me the importance of consistency. Not only in prayer, but in daily habits, thoughts, and actions. It is easy to seek God when life feels uncertain, but true growth comes from choosing Him daily, even when we do not feel like it.

As it is written:

“If you love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15

“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” James 1:22

Reflection on Legacy and Purpose

As we approach the anniversary of reflection surrounding the passing and legacy of Pope Francis, I have found myself thinking deeply about his life and journey. His story, from his ordinary work before his calling to becoming a spiritual shepherd to millions, reminds us that God prepares us long before we recognize His plan. No stage of life is wasted in God’s hands.

During that time, I also placed a lit candle on my profile as a personal symbol of prayer and reflection. It was my way of pausing to think deeply about:

  •    Purpose

  •    Calling

  •    The journey of faith

In that quiet moment, I was reminded of how God continues to shape lives in ways we may not always understand, and how every season carries meaning in His plan.

That reflection brought to mind the words of St. Paul:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

2 Timothy 4:7

These words remind me of something deeply powerful: God can use anyone, at any stage of life, if they are willing.

Sharing a Real Journey of Faith

Today, I feel a renewed desire to share my story not because it is perfect, but because it is real.

Blessings,
