I know everyone has heard the verse,

"1 Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?

5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." -Matthew 7:1-5

Let's break down this scripture to better understand it. When it says, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

This verse simply means that if you are still plagued by sin, you should not judge others or judgment will fall on you too. God does not want us to hypocritically judge others, that would make Christianity look very bad.

We are meant to represent Christ in all we do. Next, we have, “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?" Which is just reiterating that we should not be hypocritical in our judgments.

Lastly, it says, "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." This drives the point home that you can only tell your brother that he is doing something wrong if you already are dealing with your own sin.

We, who are living in sin should judge no one considering that we do the very things we judge others for.

With all this being said, we know that we are to be examples to everyone. Keep persevering and be kind in all that you do!

Remember, "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." -1 Corinthians 10:31
